These examples are all staples of Trustmark’s paid 10-week summer internship program for students pursuing careers in Actuarial Science, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing or Corporate Development. The interns work a hybrid schedule with three days in the office, similar to many Trustmark associates.
“Internships provide invaluable, practical experience for college students who are preparing to start their professional careers,” said Hillary Jacobsohn, Executive Director, Talent Acquisition.
Trustmark’s internship program began in 1993 and has expanded over the years to include interns in many areas of the company, with the most recent positions in Actuarial Science for Voluntary Benefits and Small Business Benefits, Corporate Development, Human Resources, and Finance and Marketing for Voluntary Benefits.
“We give them real work and coach them through it,” said Noah Kohn, Executive Director and Actuary. “It gives the interns real experience and helps us hire consistently from the intern program.”
Jordan Marks, Directory & Actuary, started at Trustmark in 2017 after interning the previous summer.
“Trustmark gave me everything I needed to succeed during my internship,” he said. “With the right resources, an incredible manager, a dedicated mentor, and supportive coworkers, I was empowered to unlock my true potential.”
Ankit Patel was hired in IT infrastructure following his internship in 2018 and now works in Governance, Risk & Compliance.
“I learned so much,” he said. “In addition to the IT side, I gained a lot of business knowledge that helped me immensely.
